Program Overview
Dallas Bible Theological Institute (DBTI) offers Christ-centered courses and programs designed to equip students for biblical understanding, spiritual formation, and effective ministry leadership.
Our curriculum integrates Scripture, theology, and practical ministry training, preparing students to serve faithfully in churches, communities, and global mission fields. Students are guided through intentional learning pathways that emphasize both academic excellence and spiritual growth.
Mission Statement
The mission of DBTI is to provide a Scripture-grounded, Christ-centered theological education that forms servant leaders who can rightly handle the Word of God and effectively advance the mission of the Church.
Programs of Study
DBTI offers structured pathways to support students at every stage of calling and development:
Certificate Programs:
Focused, one-year programs designed to build foundational knowledge in Bible, theology, and ministry practice.
Diploma Programs:
Expanded two-year study with deeper engagement in biblical interpretation, theology, and leadership development.
Advanced Track / Degree Pathways:
Comprehensive programs designed to equip students for high-level ministry leadership, teaching, and theological engagement, with potential credit transfer of 9 hours toward free electives in the Christian Foundations Certificate, any Associate’s of Arts, or any Bachelor of Arts at Leavell College.

Curriculum Structure
DBTI programs are built on four core pillars:
1. Biblical Studies
Survey and in-depth study of the Old and New Testaments, emphasizing interpretation and application (2 Timothy 3:16–17).
2. Theology & Doctrine
Systematic exploration of core Christian beliefs, grounding students in sound doctrine (Titus 1:9).
3. Ministry Practice
Hands-on training in preaching, teaching, discipleship, and pastoral care (2 Timothy 4:2).
4. Leadership & Spiritual Formation
Development of Christlike character, spiritual disciplines, and leadership capacity (1 Timothy 4:16).
Program Learning Outcomes
Graduates of DBTI programs will be able to:
Interpret and apply Scripture accurately (2 Timothy 2:15)
Demonstrate spiritual maturity and integrity in life and ministry
Teach and disciple others effectively (Matthew 28:19–20)
Integrate theological knowledge with ministry practice
Lead with humility, wisdom, and dependence on the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:12–13)
Course Format & Delivery
Courses may be offered in the following formats:
In-Person Classes (select courses)
Live Online (Zoom-based instruction)
Hybrid Learning (combination of in-person and online)
Self-Paced / Guided Study (select courses)
Students will engage through lectures, discussions, assignments, Scripture study, and ministry application projects.
Academic Advisement
Each student receives faculty-guided advisement to ensure proper course sequencing, academic progress, and alignment with ministry calling.
Students are encouraged to maintain regular communication with advisors for course planning, spiritual development, and program completion guidance.
Enrollment & Progression Requirements
To remain in good standing and progress through a DBTI program, students must:
Maintain satisfactory academic progress
Complete all required coursework and assignments
Demonstrate consistent participation and engagement
Exhibit growth in character, calling, and ministry readiness
Adhere to DBTI academic and community standards
Graduation Requirements
To complete a DBTI program, students must:
Successfully fulfill all course and credit requirements
Demonstrate competency in biblical knowledge and ministry skills
Exhibit evidence of spiritual formation and leadership development
Complete any required capstone, practicum, or ministry project (if applicable)
Faculty & Instruction
DBTI faculty are shepherd-scholars committed to both academic excellence and spiritual formation. They provide instruction that is biblically faithful, theologically sound, and practically applicable, while also mentoring students in their personal and ministry development.
Spiritual Formation Emphasis
At DBTI, education goes beyond the classroom. Students are encouraged to cultivate:
Consistent prayer and devotional life
Active participation in local church community
Engagement in discipleship and service
Ongoing personal and leadership growth
